Marching Roundtable Shares Expert Secrets

Wouldn’t it be great to hear the arranger for the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps share secrets from his work? How about a discussion with the directors from Lassiter and Marian Catholic High Schools about their approach to competition? How helpful would it be to learn a design process from the visual coordinator of The Blue Devils?

The Marching Roundtable Podcast Series, celebrating its second anniversary, presents all of these experts and many more in a format that can help educators and designers develop their knowledge base and skills.

Founded in March 2011, Marching Roundtable was created as a collaboration between four individuals in the marching world: Joe Allison, longtime adjudicator and band director at Eastern Kentucky University; Tim Hinton, composer/designer; John Bogenschutz, composer as well as the mind of Tone Deaf Comics; and Mary McWilliams White, color guard educator, adjudicator and school principal.

“We felt that more and better communication among communities of the major activities of the industry (marching band, drum corps, winter guard, and percussion) could help to facilitate positive change,” Allison writes in a press release. “The shared primary intent was to bring together the forces of the pageantry arts to compile as much information as possible.”
