Happy Anniversary!

In 2008, Youth Education in the Arts (YEA!) in Allentown, Pa., will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the U.S. Scholastic Band Association (USSBA) as well as beginning an 18-month celebration leading up to the 75th anniversary of The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps in 2009.

With less than 75 weeks to go before The Cadets’ anniversary, the group has established a six-person committee to create a framework of events. So far, the committee has unveiled socials, tailgates, a special gala and private Cadets performances for alumni and supporters from July 31 to Aug. 2, 2009.

As the 2009 season approaches, the 75th Anniversary Committee is seeking help to capture the magnitude of the corps’ celebration. Decade committees are now being formed to represent each era in the corps, so The Cadets are searching for alumni from the 1940s through 2000 to help out.

Be sure to check www.yea.org for more information and to find out how you can get involved.
