"Team Spirit!" Book Series

By Eddie Carden
Posted September 2008

Rosen Publishing’s new book series “Team Spirit!” provides a great resource for the marching arts, especially for beginning students.

“Team Spirit!” (2006) describes the unique facets of various aspects of the marching arts, including history, descriptions and plenty of pictures for curious readers. This colorful series includes six titles: “Marching Band,” “Band Front: Color Guard, Drum Majors, and Majorettes,” “Indoor Percussion Ensembles and Drum Corps,” “Winter Guard,” “Dance Team” and “Cheerleading.”

According to Dan Fyffe, who wrote “Indoor Percussion Ensembles and Drum Corps” and is director of bands at Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis, the goal of the publisher was to create an informative series of books that could easily be placed in a school library. The six books in the series provide a broad overview of the entire marching arts activity.

Rosen Publishing is a family-owned educational publishing company, which caters to students in preschool through high school. For more information and to purchase the books, visit www.rosenpublishing.com.
